Ifrane has one golf course: Michlifen Golf & Country Club, an 18-hole par 72 of 7,325 yards by Jack Nicklaus, opened in late summer 2018 at 1,650 m altitude. It is Morocco’s summer option: average highs are about 30 °C in July and August, against close to 38 °C in Marrakech. It is 55 minutes from Fès-Saïss airport and an hour from Fez (65 km), with an IMG academy. The club publishes no rate (checked 09/10/2026).

Ifrane has one course, the Michlifen Golf & Country Club, which opened in late summer 2018 as the first Jack Nicklaus signature course in North Africa. This 18-hole, par-72 layout of 7,325 yards is played at 1,650 metres, between cedar and holm oak forests, open ground and rocky outcrops. Holes 9 and 18 run along an escarpment facing Azrou. The club has a driving range and an academy with three analysis studios, for putting and the swing.

Getting there

Fès-Saïss Airport (FEZ) is 55 km from Michlifen Resort & Golf, a 55-minute drive according to the hotel. Rabat-Salé airport is 190 km away (2 hours 20) and Casablanca Mohammed V 320 km (3 hours 50).

The course is about 9 km by road from central Ifrane, and the Michlifen hotel is a few minutes from the course. From the Michlifen, Fès is 65 km away (1 hour) and Meknes 64 km. Plan on a private transfer booked in advance.

Best season

At 1,650 m, Ifrane is a warm-season destination: from May to October, average highs range from 19 to 30 °C (WMO 1991-2020 normals). Winter is cold and wet, with lows close to 0 °C from December to February and more than 110 mm of rain a month from November to March.

Even in July and August, the average low is around 15 °C, so a warm layer helps on the first tee. In May and October, highs are around 19 °C.
