Agadir golf courses compared: four courses, prices and a sample week
- 09 October 2026
Agadir has four courses in our selection worth building a golf week around: Golf du Soleil (36 holes), Golf de l’Océan (27), Golf des Dunes (27) and Tazegzout (an 18-hole course plus a 9-hole loop). The short version: Tazegzout for the clifftop round above the Atlantic, l’Océan for its published 2026-27 rate card (850 MAD for 18 holes) and its free hotel shuttle, Soleil for two full 18-hole courses at one club, and Les Dunes for three hilly loops 10 km from town. As of 9 October 2026, only l’Océan publishes a rate card for the whole winter; at Golf des Dunes and Tazegzout, for 10 Oct 2026 the operators showed 585 MAD for 18 holes and 405 MAD for 9 holes on their online booking pages (checked 9 Oct 2026); Golf du Soleil is priced when you book.
This page is for making the decision: which course suits which golfer, what a week actually costs on published rates, and how to string the four clubs together without losing hours on the road. Every figure comes from the club, its operator or the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG), checked on 9 October 2026. Prices stay in Moroccan dirhams (MAD), as the clubs publish them.
Agadir's four golf courses side by side
| Course | Holes | Par | Length | Designer | Published 18-hole green fee | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Golf du Soleil | 36: Championship (18) and Tikida (18) | 72 (Championship) | Championship 5,539 m (FRMG); Tikida about 5,500 m from the whites | Mueller and Courbin | No 2026-27 rate yet (the page still shows the 1 Oct 2025 to 30 Sept 2026 grid) | Km 7, Bensergao road |
| Golf de l’Océan | 27: Garden, Dunes, Desert | 36 per loop | 18 holes of 5,765 to 5,872 m from the black tees | Belt Collins | 850 MAD (9 holes: 500 MAD), 1 Oct 2026 to 30 Apr 2027 | Free shuttle from 10 hotel stops |
| Golf des Dunes | 27: Eucalyptus, Oued, Tamaris | 36 per loop | Loops of 3,068 to 3,175 m, so 18 holes of 6,192 to 6,299 m | Cabell B. Robinson | 585 MAD on online booking for 10 Oct 2026 (checked 9 Oct 2026) | 10 km from town |
| Tazegzout Golf | 27: 18 holes (Green and Red) + 9 holes (Blue) | 72 (18 holes) | 6,730 m (18 holes); Blue 1,853 m | Kyle Phillips | 585 MAD on online booking for 10 Oct 2026 (checked 9 Oct 2026) | Km 17, Essaouira road, 15 minutes from the centre |
What the table tells you: l’Océan is the only club where you can budget the whole 2026-27 winter from an official price list. At Les Dunes and Tazegzout, for 10 Oct 2026 the operators showed 585 MAD for 18 holes and 405 MAD for 9 holes on their online booking pages (checked 9 Oct 2026): a price for one date, not a seasonal rate card. Golf du Soleil has not yet posted this season’s rates. None of that means the courses are closed to visitors; it means the price is confirmed when the tee time is booked.
There is a fifth course in the area. The FRMG lists Royal Golf d’Agadir, a 9-hole par 36 of 2,681 m at Aït Melloul, about 12 km outside the city, which it describes as one of the oldest courses in the kingdom. No official rate is published, so we only include it once visitor access has been confirmed directly.
Which Agadir course suits which golfer
Golf du Soleil: two 18-hole courses, one car park
The practical pick if you want to play several days in the same place. Golf du Soleil has two courses of very different character. The Championship opened in 1999 and reopened in October 2019 after a full rebuild (grasses, greens, lakes, irrigation); the club calls it flat with no particular physical difficulty, so it can be walked. It hosts Challenge Tour and EPD Tour events. The Tikida went from 9 to 18 holes in 2006 and is shorter but tighter, threading through eucalyptus and tamarisk; the club pitches it as the course for working on your iron play.
Best for: golfers who like a steady routine, a longer open course one day and a tighter one the next, with a David Leadbetter academy on site for a range session.
Golf de l'Océan: the easiest to organise
Golf de l’Océan combines three nines (Garden, Dunes, Desert) over 90 hectares with four lakes. The club describes natural, sometimes narrow terrain, a fairly open layout and deep bunkers. It has hosted the Hassan II Trophy and the Lalla Meryem Cup. For a trip it has three things going for it: the only published 2026-27 price list in Agadir, two- and three-round packages, and a free shuttle (on reservation, subject to seats) from 1 October 2026 to 30 April 2027, picking up at ten stops in the hotel zone.
Best for: anyone without a hire car, societies that want fixed prices up front, and golfers who like to mix up their 18-hole combinations without changing club.
Golf des Dunes: the hilly one
Opened in 1991, Golf des Dunes was laid out by Cabell B. Robinson over 101 hectares of rolling ground with eucalyptus, broom, tamarisk, palms and four large lakes. Its three par-36 loops give three different 18-hole rounds. There is a 250 m driving range, putting and pitching greens, half and full sets for hire, electric buggies, lessons and courses.
Best for: golfers who enjoy a walk and reading slopes, and anyone who wants 27 holes with a proper teaching set-up.
Tazegzout: the clifftop course
Tazegzout Golf, designed by Kyle Phillips and opened in 2014, covers 76 hectares of the Taghazout Bay resort. The par-72, 6,730 m course winds through argan trees, with holes set on cliffs 80 m above the Atlantic. A 9-hole loop, the Blue, completes the site. It is open from 7am until sunset, the pro shop hires out clubs, and you do not need to stay at the Fairmont to play.
Best for: every visiting golfer, at least once. Book early: the neighbouring hotel recommends securing your tee time in advance.
Four courses, one week: we set the order and book the tee times. We build the trip to measure: courses, tee times, accommodation and transfers.
What a week costs on published rates
Only Golf de l’Océan lets you build a green fee budget for winter 2026-27 from an official grid. This is its public price list, valid from 1 October 2026 to 30 April 2027:
| Golf de l’Océan | 18 holes | 9 holes |
|---|---|---|
| Green fee | 850 MAD | 500 MAD |
| 2-round package, per player | 1,600 MAD (800 MAD a round) | – |
| 3-round package, per player | 2,200 MAD (about 733 MAD a round) | – |
| Buggy | 450 MAD | 250 MAD |
| Trolley | 75 MAD | 50 MAD |
| Caddie | 150 MAD | 100 MAD |
| Range bucket (with a green fee) | 25 MAD | |
Per-round figures are worked out from the grid. The club’s rules recommend a caddie in a four-ball, and a Royal Moroccan Golf Federation circular of 29 May 2025 makes a caddie compulsory on every Moroccan course, so allow for one on every round.
For the other three clubs you need a price confirmed at booking. Golf du Soleil’s rates page still shows the high season running from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, now expired. At Les Dunes and Tazegzout, for 10 Oct 2026 the operators showed 585 MAD for 18 holes and 405 MAD for 9 holes on their online booking pages (checked 9 Oct 2026), to be reconfirmed for your dates. At Tazegzout, the Fairmont sells a golf package, bookable until 31 December 2026 (four nights minimum, its best available rate on three green fees, breakfast, a 30-minute massage and transfers to the course), without a listed price. We do not repeat out-of-date rates: we get the real ones for your dates when we quote.
A sample week: 7 nights, 5 rounds, 4 courses
A plan that works for a first week in Agadir, alternating clubs and keeping one day off:
| Day | Plan | Published green fee |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Arrive and settle in | – |
| Day 2 | Golf de l’Océan, Garden and Dunes nines (loosener, shuttle from the hotel) | 2-round package: 1,600 MAD per player for days 2 and 6 |
| Day 3 | Golf du Soleil, Championship course | No 2026-27 rate yet |
| Day 4 | Tazegzout, tee time booked ahead | 585 MAD (online booking, checked 9 Oct 2026 for 10 Oct 2026) |
| Day 5 | Rest day, or 9 holes late afternoon | 9 holes at l’Océan: 500 MAD |
| Day 6 | Golf de l’Océan, Desert and Garden nines | Covered by the package |
| Day 7 | Golf des Dunes, two of the three loops | 585 MAD (online booking, checked 9 Oct 2026 for 10 Oct 2026) |
| Day 8 | Home | – |
Two of the five rounds can be costed today from an official grid: 1,600 MAD per player at l’Océan, plus 150 MAD for a caddie and, if you want one, 450 MAD for a buggy per 18 holes. The other three are confirmed for your dates (as a guide: 585 MAD a round at Les Dunes and Tazegzout on online booking, checked 9 Oct 2026). For a society that wants fewer unknowns, swap in the 3-round package at l’Océan (2,200 MAD per player) and add Tazegzout and Golf du Soleil.
Why this order: the l’Océan shuttle makes the first morning easy, and Tazegzout mid-week leaves slack if the tee time has to move.
Getting between the courses
The published distances are short. Golf du Soleil is at km 7 on the Bensergao road, Golf des Dunes 10 km from town, Tazegzout 15 minutes from central Agadir along the Essaouira road, at km 17. Golf de l’Océan gives no distance but runs its own shuttle from ten hotel stops (Sofitel Royal, Sofitel Thalassa, Iberostar Founty Beach, Tikida Beach and Club Robinson among them), with the first pick-up in town at 7.30am.
Where you stay depends on which courses you want. In the hotel zone you reach l’Océan without a transfer and the others by taxi or a booked transfer. At Taghazout Bay, Tazegzout is on the doorstep and the other three are all south, on the Agadir side: our Taghazout Bay golf holiday guide covers the resort’s hotels. For a profile of each club, see our Agadir page.
Before you book
- Book tee times ahead. L’Océan requires an advance booking and a stop at reception before you play; at Tazegzout, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before, and fees may apply after that or for a no-show.
- You can travel without clubs: Tazegzout and Golf des Dunes both hire out sets.
- Passports: UK travellers need a passport valid for at least three months after arrival (gov.uk); Irish travellers need six months’ validity on entry, and the Irish passport card is not accepted (ireland.ie).
- Flights are not included; you book them yourself.

Four clubs take golf holidaymakers: Golf du Soleil (36 holes), Golf de l’Océan (27), Golf des Dunes (27) and Tazegzout (18 holes plus a 9-hole loop) at Taghazout Bay. The FRMG also lists Royal Golf d’Agadir, a 9-hole course at Aït Melloul with no published rate.
Which is the cheapest golf course in Agadir?
You can only compare what is published. For 10 Oct 2026, the operators of Golf des Dunes and Tazegzout each showed 585 MAD for 18 holes and 405 MAD for 9 holes on online booking (checked 9 Oct 2026): a price for one date, to be reconfirmed for yours. Golf de l’Océan is the only club with a 2026-27 rate card: 850 MAD for 18 holes, or about 733 MAD a round with the 3-round package at 2,200 MAD. Golf du Soleil has no current rates online.
If I only play one course in Agadir, which should it be?
Tazegzout, for Kyle Phillips’ 18 holes set on cliffs 80 m above the Atlantic. Book the tee time early; cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.
Can I play golf in Agadir without a hire car?
Yes. Golf de l’Océan runs a free shuttle, on reservation and subject to seats, from ten stops in the hotel zone between 1 October 2026 and 30 April 2027. For the other clubs, use a taxi or a booked transfer.
Do I have to stay at the Fairmont to play Tazegzout?
No. The Fairmont Taghazout Bay says a hotel reservation is not required to play Tazegzout Golf; it simply recommends booking your tee time in advance.
