Opened at the beginning of 2010, the Al Maaden course bears the signature of Kyle Phillips, who set out to blend the spirit of Moroccan oases with a Scottish touch. Its 18 holes stretch over 6,569 metres (7,184 yards) within a 72-hectare landscaped park, at the foot of the Atlas and a few minutes from the centre of Marrakech.
Long geometric pools designed by the Madrid landscape designer Fernando Caruncho give the feeling of playing through a Moroccan garden, while twelve sculptures punctuate the course. To warm up, the club offers a 300-metre driving range, a grass practice area, a putting green, an approach green and practice bunkers.
