Lake and palm trees on an Agadir golf course

A Marrakech and Agadir twin-centre golf holiday works over 7 to 10 nights: four or five nights in Marrakech for its inland courses, then three to five nights in Agadir on the Atlantic coast, linked by the Marrakech-Agadir motorway, about 234 km long according to a 2007 technical paper by Autoroutes du Maroc. The best months to do both are October-November and March-April, when Marrakech is neither cold first thing nor scorching in the afternoon. This guide covers how to split the nights, the transfer, which courses to play at each end with the rates published on 12 October 2026, and flying home from Agadir.

How many nights at each end

The principle: one base per city, one course a day, and a travel day without golf (or with nine holes on arrival). Three splits that work:

LengthMarrakechAgadirRounds
7 nights4 nights, 3 courses3 nights, 2 courses5 rounds, 1 travel day
8 to 9 nights4 or 5 nights, 3 or 4 courses4 nights, 3 courses6 or 7 rounds, room for a rest day
10 nights5 nights, 4 courses5 nights, 4 courses8 rounds, 1 rest day

Which way round? Mostly a question of flights: Marrakech first if you land there, Agadir first if your outbound flight lands in Agadir. If you are still choosing between the two cities, our guide Marrakech or Agadir for golf helps; this page is for doing both.

The Marrakech to Agadir transfer

The two cities are linked by the Marrakech-Agadir motorway, the “autoroute du Sud”. In a 2007 technical paper, the environment department of Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) gives a length of “about 234 km” from the junction with the Settat-Marrakech motorway, in six sections, including a crossing of the High Atlas between Imintanoute and Argana with a tunnel of about 500 m. No official journey time is published.

Hire carUK drivers need the 1968 international driving permit plus their UK licence (gov.uk); hire companies often set extra conditions such as a year of driving experience and a higher minimum ageAny alcohol in your system at the wheel: a fine and possible imprisonment
CTM coachMarrakech > Agadir is listed among the operator’s most searched routesTimes and fares on the CTM website; no published rules for golf bags

The gov.uk advice adds that the IDP cannot be bought outside the UK, and that poor lighting makes night driving dangerous. Irish drivers need a full Irish licence plus an international driving permit (ireland.ie). For a fourball with four golf bags, a private transfer avoids relying on a coach hold. The other journeys of the trip are covered in our guide to Morocco golf transfers.

Marrakech: which courses to play

Agadir: the four courses

In Agadir the choice is tighter: four courses, enough for three to five nights.

Golf de l’Océan27 holes in three loops (Garden, Dunes, Desert), Belt Collins; free shuttle on request, subject to availability, from ten hotel stops, 1 October 2026 to 30 April 2027850 MAD; 2 green fees 1,600 MAD, 3 green fees 2,200 MAD per person

Golf des Dunes27 holes, Cabell B. Robinson, 1991, four large lakesNo rate card published; online booking
Golf du Soleil36 holes: Championship and Tikida, David Leadbetter academy2026-27 rates not published

For three rounds, the Golf de l’Océan package works out at about 733 MAD a round, and Tazegzout Golf adds its clifftop holes above the ocean. All four clubs are covered in our guide Agadir golf courses compared. The Fairmont Taghazout Bay, next to Tazegzout, puts itself a 45-minute drive from Agadir Al Massira airport.

The best season to combine the two

The World Meteorological Organization’s 1991-2020 climate normals show two different climates: inland Marrakech has cool winter mornings and very hot summer afternoons; coastal Agadir stays much more even all year.

MonthMarrakech: max / minMarrakech: rain daysAgadir: max / minAgadir: rain days
October28.5 / 15.7°C2.426.1 / 16.7°C1.9
November23.1 / 10.7°C3.824.1 / 12.9°C3.0
December20.1 / 7.3°C4.122.1 / 10.1°C3.6
January19.1 / 5.9°C3.021.2 / 8.4°C2.8

April25.7 / 12.4°C2.923.2 / 14.1°C1.7

Rain days = days with at least 1 mm. In October-November and March-April both cities sit between 23 and 29°C in the afternoon. From December to February, Marrakech drops to 6-8°C first thing: take later tee times there and save the early starts for Agadir. In July, Marrakech averages 37.7°C in the afternoon against 26.7°C in Agadir, so a summer twin-centre leans firmly towards the coast. Month-by-month detail for the whole country is in our guide on when to play golf in Morocco.

Fly into Marrakech, home from Agadir

There is no need to go back to Marrakech for the flight home if Agadir has a route to your airport. Ryanair’s published network, checked on 12 October 2026, links both Marrakech and Agadir with London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Dublin; check the days of operation for your dates. Flights are not included: you book them yourself. Paperwork: UK travellers need a passport with an expiry date at least 3 months after arrival (gov.uk); Irish passports need at least 6 months’ validity from the date of entry (ireland.ie).

For the Marrakech leg, the private-villa format is set out in our golf holidays in Marrakech.
