Half-term and Easter golf in Marrakech: 2027 dates, weather, fees

February half term and the Easter holidays 2027 both land in Marrakech’s best golfing window: an average high of 20.7 °C in February, 23.6 °C in March and 25.7 °C in April, with three to five rainy days a month (WMO 1991-2020 normals). Half term falls on 15 to 19 February 2027 in Ireland, Edinburgh and Surrey, but on 8 to 12 February in Wales; Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027. Morocco returned to GMT on 20 September 2026 (Decree No. 2.26.530), so Marrakech is on UK time in February and one hour behind once the clocks go forward on 28 March. One thing to check for February: Ramadan is expected to start that month.

UK bank holidays: Good Friday falls on 26 March 2027 and Easter Monday on 29 March (England, Wales and Northern Ireland; Good Friday only in Scotland). What this means for a golf trip: the week of 15 February 2027 brings together Ireland, Edinburgh, Surrey, Geneva and two French school zones. Wales breaks a week earlier. At Easter, Wales and Ireland break first (from 20 March), then Northern Ireland, England and Scotland around the Easter weekend, while French families travel in April.

February half term means a jumper for the first tee, with lows around 8 °C, and a polo shirt by the turn. March is the wettest of the three months, though still under five rainy days on average. April is already warm in the afternoon, with nearly six days a month at 30 °C or more, so an early tee time is the comfortable choice. If anyone in your group does not walk 18 holes, note that buggies are not allowed in wet weather at Fairmont Royal Palm.

Samanah also sells a twilight green fee from 1.15 pm in February, 1.30 pm in March and 2 pm in April, and says it is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. At Assoufid, tee times run from 7.30 am to 2 pm and “may vary seasonally”, with members given priority until 9.30 am.

High season: what the clubs publish
February to April is high season at the clubs that publish seasons. None of the rate cards we read includes a school-holiday surcharge. Visitor rates for 18 holes, read on the clubs’ official websites on 19 October 2026:

So for a half-term or Easter trip, going by these rate cards, the green fee does not change with the week you pick (Samanah does not detail its variations); what matters is getting the right tee times. On top comes the caddie, compulsory on every course since the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation’s circular of 29 May 2025.
February 2027 and Ramadan
The UK Foreign Office says the next Ramadan starts in February 2027; the exact date depends on the sighting of the new moon and is not known in advance. A February half-term trip is therefore likely to overlap with it. Golf carries on as normal, but some things change: our guide to golf in Morocco during Ramadan sets out what the clubs publish. Easter breaks that start around 20 March could overlap too if Ramadan starts late in February, so check the date once it is announced.
Book early: why, and how
- Morning tee times go first. In February the last 18-hole tee time is 2.15 pm at Samanah and around 2 pm at Assoufid, where members have priority until 9.30 am. The useful window for a visitor is narrow.
- The busy weeks overlap. The week of 15 February 2027 combines Ireland, Edinburgh, Surrey, Geneva and two French zones. If your dates are flexible, the Welsh week (8 to 12 February) or the week of 22 February spreads the demand differently.
- Caddies are booked too. Atlas Golf asks for caddies and buggies to be booked 24 hours ahead.
- Passports: for UK travellers, GOV.UK says your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you arrive in Morocco. Check the children’s passports before you book.
Family trips in the school holidays
A few clubs publish junior rates: Amelkis charges 350 MAD for 18 holes and 300 MAD for 9 for under-18s, and Atlas Golf 150 MAD for a junior 9 holes. Fairmont Royal Palm’s academy listed, on its last rate card online (archived June 2026), a 5-day junior course during school holidays (90 minutes a day, 2,800 MAD). When is February half term 2027?
It depends where you live. Published dates are 15 to 19 February 2027 for Surrey, Edinburgh and Irish post-primary schools, 8 to 12 February across Wales, and 11 and 12 February in Northern Ireland. In England and Scotland dates are set by each council, so check yours.
