Couples' golf break in Marrakech: courses, spa and tables for two

Two glasses raised in a toast, a golf ball in each

For a couples’ golf break in Marrakech, pick courses with short forward tees: Assoufid (red tees at 4,966 m), Samanah (5,190 m), Amelkis (4,662 to 4,808 depending on the loops) or the 9-hole Atlas Golf; Assoufid, Amelkis and Atlas Golf also publish a 9-hole rate. Atlas Golf also sells a 9 holes, lunch and spa treatment package at 1,050 MAD, and its spa offers treatments for two. The rest is down to timing: golf in the morning, spa or the city in the afternoon, dinner together.

When you both play, or one plays in the morning

Our guide to a golf holiday in Marrakech with a non-golfing partner covers trips where only one of you plays. This one is for couples who both play, often off different handicaps, or where one plays 18 holes while the other plays nine. Three things matter more than a course’s reputation:

  • the length of the forward tees, so the round stays enjoyable for the shorter hitter;
  • the maximum handicap the club accepts: 35 at Assoufid, 28 at Fairmont Royal Palm, where a valid licence is also required;
  • what surrounds the course: spa, pool, a restaurant open at lunchtime, so the day carries on without getting back in the car.

Caddies have been compulsory on every course in Morocco since a Royal Moroccan Golf Federation circular of 29 May 2025. Good news for a couple: at Royal Golf Marrakech the fee is “per caddie, not per player”, 200 MAD for 18 holes for one or two players, paid in cash.

Courses where a round for two works well

Lengths come from the scorecards published by the clubs and green fees from the official rate cards, all rechecked on 19 October 2026. On these cards the forward tees are red and the back tees black, with the white tees in between.

The Amelkis, Palm Golf Ourika and Atlas Golf cards do not state the unit of measurement. Samanah also publishes a tee recommendation by level: red tees for women off 15.5 to 36, blue (5,696 m) for women off 0 to 15.4, and purple (4,443 m) for women off 37 to 53; the same card puts men off 37 to 45 on the red tees. Assoufid asks you to show a handicap certificate before paying the green fee.

What this means for a couple: Amelkis and Palm Golf Ourika have the shortest red tees of the four 18-hole courses in the table, with Assoufid next at 4,966 m; Amelkis and Assoufid also publish a 9-hole rate. Fairmont Royal Palm, restricted to licensed players off 28 or better, only works if you both qualify. Nine holes and a spa: the published packages

Atlas Golf, on the Amizmiz road, publishes seven combined packages on its rate card, which carries no validity dates, including:

  • “AGM Pass” at 1,050 MAD: 9 holes, lunch and a 45-minute treatment of your choice;
  • “Getaway Pass” at 800 MAD: 9 holes and a 45-minute treatment of your choice;
  • “Swing, Lunch & Swim” at 800 MAD: 9 holes, lunch and spa pool access;
  • “Relaxation Pass” at 680 MAD, for whoever is not playing that day: lunch and a 45-minute treatment;
  • lunch means a starter or main course (under 200 MAD on the à la carte menu), dessert, a soft drink and a tea or coffee.

The Atlas Golf spa also lists two treatments for couples: the “Candle experience for two” at 900 MAD (20 minutes in the jacuzzi and a 60-minute candle massage) and the “Mineral experience for two” at 1,200 MAD (hammam, body scrub, jacuzzi and candle massage ritual). An easy day: 9 holes together in the morning, lunch at La Terrasse, a treatment for two in the afternoon, dinner at Touggana.

At Fairmont Royal Palm, the hotel’s 4- and 7-night golf packages give each golfer 15% off all spa treatments. The hotel’s offers page also lists a “Sunset Pass”: welcome mocktail, pool access from 3pm, dinner at Capricci (Italian) or Al Aïn (Oriental cuisine), and a 200 MAD spa credit to use the same day. The page shows a single price, 1,400 MAD excluding drinks, below both passes (Day Pass and Sunset Pass), without saying whether it applies to each: ask the hotel to confirm. Spa access is for over-18s only.

Samanah lists massages and wellness treatments among its services, with no published prices. Next to Amelkis, the Amanjena hotel at km 12 on the Ouarzazate road describes itself as close to the 27-hole course and highlights its spa and hammam rituals.

Lunch and dinner at the golf clubs

A trip for two is also about the table. The clubs that publish opening hours and prices (rechecked on 19 October 2026) make it easy to fit the round around a meal; the club-by-club detail is in our guide to Marrakech golf clubhouses.

ClubWhenWhat the club publishes
Royal Golf MarrakechLunchTwo sittings, 12.30pm and 2.30pm, booking required; Sunday menu at 600 MAD (starter, main, dessert)
Al MaadenSunday lunchtimeBuffet brunch from 12.30pm to 4pm, 490 MAD per person
Samanah (Le Mulligan)All day8am to 7pm daily; Moroccan wines by the bottle (250 to 500 MAD) and by the glass (65 MAD)
Atlas GolfLunch and dinnerLa Terrasse at lunchtime, Touggana every evening, open seven days a week

Sunday is the easiest day: 9 holes at Al Maaden or Royal Golf Marrakech, then the brunch or the Sunday menu. Book the table when you book the tee time.

A four-day programme for two

Four days, four different courses, two of them over nine holes, and no golf in the afternoons. Published green fees per player, caddie extra.

Villa or hotel for a golfing couple

In a hotel, Fairmont Royal Palm has the course on site but requires a handicap of 28 or better; Amanjena, next to Amelkis, puts its spa forward. Our guide on where to stay in Marrakech for golf covers the choice of area.

A villa makes more sense as soon as two or more couples travel together. Our golf holidays in Marrakech combine a private villa for 3 to 21 people, a dedicated chef, private transfers between the airport, the villa and the courses, and rounds chosen with you, from €1,150 per golfer (about £970). The quote form asks for golfers and non-golfers separately and lets you tick private chef, spa and hammam, or restaurant. Flights are not included: you book them yourself. To enter Morocco, a British passport must be valid for at least three months after your arrival date.
