Golf from Marrakech's luxury hotels: six hotels, three courses each
- 19 October 2026
None of the six luxury hotels in this comparison has its own golf course, but three of them publish a golf offer or golf access: La Mamounia (“Golf by La Mamounia”), Amanjena (a three-night golf break, next door to Amelkis) and Mandarin Oriental (access to Royal Golf and Al Maaden). On 19 October 2026, the Royal Mansour and Oberoi websites showed no golf offer; the Four Seasons website refused us access, and its official press fact sheet does not mention golf. From the medina, The Montgomerie and Atlas Golf are 7 minutes by road; Royal Golf Marrakech is 1 minute from Mandarin Oriental and 4 minutes from Amanjena.
How we checked: on 19 October 2026 we read each hotel’s official website and kept only what it says about golf. Drive times come from OSRM (an OpenStreetMap routing engine, car profile, no traffic) between the hotel and the course location published by the club or by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, so allow longer at rush hour. We quote no room rates, as none of these hotels publishes a “from” price. La Mamounia and Royal Mansour both describe themselves as palaces; for the other four we simply say luxury hotels.
Six luxury hotels and their three nearest courses
For each hotel, the table ranks the three nearest courses by driving time, among the Marrakech courses on our site (PalmGolf Ourika is left out, as no official location for the course is published).
| Hotel | Area (hotel website) | What the hotel publishes about golf | Nearest | Second | Third |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Royal Mansour | Medina, “a few steps” from Jemaa el-Fna square | No golf offer on its website on 19/10/2026 | Montgomerie: 7 min (4.1 km) | Atlas Golf: 7 min (5.4 km) | Royal Golf: 10 min (7.7 km) |
| La Mamounia | Avenue Bab Jdid, Marrakech-Medina | “Golf by La Mamounia” offer: green fees, transfers, massage | Montgomerie: 7 min (4.5 km) | Atlas Golf: 7 min (5.3 km) | Royal Golf: 9 min (7.2 km) |
| Four Seasons | 1 Boulevard de la Menara, across from the Menara Gardens | Website unreadable on 19/10/2026; nothing about golf in its press fact sheet | Montgomerie: 7 min (3.5 km) | Atlas Golf: 8 min (5.1 km) | Amelkis: 14 min (10.0 km) |
| Mandarin Oriental | Route du Golf Royal | “Privileged access” to Royal Golf and Al Maaden, with a booking request form; Amelkis a 5-minute drive | Royal Golf: 1 min (0.5 km) | Amelkis: 4 min (2.4 km) | Al Maaden: 7 min (2.8 km) |
| Amanjena | Route de Ouarzazate, km 12 | Neighbours Amelkis; golf break, three-night minimum | Amelkis: 4 min (1.7 km) | Royal Golf: 4 min (2.3 km) | Al Maaden: 11 min (6.2 km) |
| The Oberoi | Route de Ouarzazate | No golf among its listed experiences on 19/10/2026 | Royal Golf: 13 min (11.2 km) | Amelkis: 14 min (11.6 km) | Golf Club Rotana: 20 min (15.7 km) |
The hotels fall into two groups. Those in the medina and by the Menara Gardens sit closest to the courses west and south-west of the city (The Montgomerie, Atlas Golf). Those on the Route du Golf Royal and the Ouarzazate road are on the doorstep of Royal Golf Marrakech and Amelkis. To compare with hotels built on a course, see our guide to Marrakech golf hotels.

Staying at a luxury hotel and want tee times booked on the right courses? We build the trip to measure: courses, tee times, accommodation and transfers.
Royal Mansour: golf you arrange yourself
Royal Mansour describes itself as a palace “just a few steps away” from Jemaa el-Fna square, with riads in place of rooms. On 19 October 2026 we read the 54 English-language Marrakech pages listed in its site map: none offers golf, a shuttle to a course or a green-fee package. On the same website, the only golf offer is at its Tamuda Bay hotel on the Mediterranean coast, not in Marrakech.
Three days we would suggest from Royal Mansour: Royal Golf Marrakech (10 minutes) for its Old Course, which dates from 1927; Al Maaden (16 minutes), Kyle Phillips’ layout; and The Montgomerie (7 minutes), the nearest, for a last morning before the flight home. With no golf offer published, transfers and tee times have to be arranged separately, or requested from the hotel.
La Mamounia: a golf package with five courses to choose from
La Mamounia, on Avenue Bab Jdid, publishes a “Golf by La Mamounia” offer for stays of three, four nights or more. It includes:
- at least two green fees, depending on the length of stay, chosen from five courses, subject to availability: Royal Golf Marrakech, Amelkis, Assoufid, Royal Palm Golf & Country Club and Al Maaden;
- return transfers from Marrakech Menara airport and to the golf clubs;
- daily buffet breakfast at Le Pavillon de la Piscine;
- a 60-minute signature massage at the spa.
No price is shown on the page. Three days we would suggest: Royal Golf (9 minutes) and Amelkis (10 minutes), both in the hotel’s selection, then The Montgomerie (7 minutes) for a third course with the shortest drive. Note that the Royal Palm, also in the selection, requires a valid licence and a handicap of 28 or better, according to Fairmont’s golf page.
Four Seasons: the closest to The Montgomerie
Four Seasons Resort Marrakech, opened in June 2011, stands at 1 Boulevard de la Menara, across from the Menara Gardens and 10 minutes by car from the airport, according to its official press fact sheet. Its main website refused our connections on 19 October 2026, so we could not check what it publishes about golf, and the fact sheet does not mention it. Ask the hotel. By road, it is the hotel in this comparison nearest to The Montgomerie (3.5 km, 7 minutes).
Three days we would suggest: The Montgomerie (7 minutes), Atlas Golf (8 minutes) and The Tony Jacklin Marrakech (15 minutes), three courses on the south-western side of the city with visitor green fees of 600 to 700 MAD.
Mandarin Oriental: the shortest drive to Royal Golf
Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech gives its address as the Route du Golf Royal. Its contact page advertises “privileged access” to two clubs, Royal Golf and Al Maaden, puts Amelkis a 5-minute drive away and the airport 15 minutes. Its Royal Golf and Al Maaden pages carry a booking request form, but the hotel does not say what that access consists of, so ask in writing before you book. OSRM gives 0.5 km and 1 minute to Royal Golf, the shortest drive in this comparison.
Three days we would suggest: Royal Golf (1 minute), Amelkis (4 minutes) and Al Maaden (7 minutes). Three courses under 10 minutes away, by three different designers: Golias and Massy in 1927, Cabell B. Robinson and Kyle Phillips.
Amanjena: next door to Amelkis, with a three-night break
Aman places Amanjena at km 12 on the Ouarzazate road, a 20-minute drive from the airport, and says the Amelkis course neighbours the resort. Its “Moroccan Golf Break” (three-night minimum, shown until 24 December 2027, black-out dates apply) includes:
- daily green fees at Amelkis or the Royal Golf Club;
- one green fee at Assoufid per stay, subject to availability;
- return transfers to the courses, including one to Assoufid, and round-trip transfers from Marrakech Menara airport (except for group rates);
- one 60-minute spa treatment for two, daily breakfast and afternoon tea.
No price is published. Three days we would suggest: Amelkis (4 minutes) and Royal Golf (4 minutes), both covered by the break, then Al Maaden (11 minutes) or Assoufid (24 minutes) for the third round.
The Oberoi: the furthest from the courses
The Oberoi, Marrakech is on the Ouarzazate road, in 113,312 square metres (28 acres) of gardens, 17.5 km and 25 minutes from the airport according to the hotel. The 15 experiences on its website on 19 October 2026 (tennis, pétanque, yoga, vintage sidecar rides) do not include golf. The nearest course is 13 minutes away (Royal Golf), and the south-western courses such as Samanah are 35 minutes. Three days we would suggest: Royal Golf, Amelkis and Al Maaden, all within 20 minutes.
Luxury hotel or private villa: what changes for a golfer
A luxury hotel solves the accommodation; it does not always solve the golf. Of these six hotels, only La Mamounia and Amanjena publish a package with green fees and transfers, on a list of courses set by the hotel. For a group that wants to choose every course, the offer on our golf holidays in Marrakech page works differently: a private villa for 3 to 21 guests, a dedicated chef, private transfers between the airport, the villa and each course, and rounds on Marrakech’s courses chosen with you, from €1,150 per golfer (about £970). Flights are not included: you book your own. To see how each district sits in relation to the courses, read where to stay in Marrakech for golf.
Medina hotel or villa with a chef: compare with a costed proposal. We build the trip to measure: courses, tee times, accommodation and transfers.
