Fairways of a large golf resort

Agadir and Marrakech have seven golf venues with exactly 27 holes: Golf de l’Océan, Golf des Dunes and Tazegzout around Agadir, and Amelkis, Royal Golf Marrakech, The Tony Jacklin Marrakech and Golf Club Rotana in Marrakech. Three of them are built as three equal nines you combine into different 18-hole rounds; the other four pair a main 18 with a separate nine. Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat (45 holes) and Golf du Soleil in Agadir (36) go further. Elsewhere, Al Houara near Tangier pairs its 18 with a 9-hole par-3 course, and the FRMG lists 27 holes (an 18 plus a nine) at Royal Golf de Benslimane.

Every 27-hole venue in Morocco in one table

Hole counts and layouts come from each club, its operator or the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG); green fees are the public 18-hole rates shown on the clubs’ own sites on 9 October 2026, in Moroccan dirhams as published.

Three equal nines: Golf de l'Océan, Golf des Dunes and Amelkis

This is the classic 27-hole format. Each nine is a loop that starts and finishes near the clubhouse, so the club can send you out on any two of the three. Over a week you can play three genuinely different 18-hole courses without changing venue.

Golf de l'Océan, Agadir

Golf de l’Océan spreads its three nines over 90 hectares with four lakes, eucalyptus, tamarisk and palms, and has hosted the Trophée Hassan II and the Lalla Meryem Cup. The club publishes a card for each pairing, so you can compare the combinations before you play.

Desert + Dunes5,765 m70.8128
Desert + Garden5,872 m71.4131

For 2026-27 the club charges 850 MAD for 18 holes and 500 MAD for nine, and sells packages of two green fees for 1,600 MAD and three for 2,200 MAD per person. A free shuttle runs from the main Agadir hotels, on booking and subject to seats.

Golf des Dunes, Agadir

The oldest of the Agadir 27-hole venues opened in 1991 on 101 hectares of rolling ground with four large lakes. Golf des Dunes was designed by Cabell B. Robinson, whom the club describes as a disciple of Robert Trent Jones. Its three par-36 nines measure 3,124 m (Eucalyptus), 3,068 m (Oued) and 3,175 m (Tamaris), so the 18-hole combinations work out at 6,192 to 6,299 m. The only price list on the club’s site is from 2019-20: ask for the current rate.

Amelkis, Marrakech

Amelkis Golf Club, at km 12 on the Ouarzazate road, opened in 1995 with the Blue and Red nines; the Green nine followed in 2009. The club gives the full 27 holes as 10,657 m (11,655 yards), with each nine between 3,609 and 3,718 yards. Expect seven lakes, red-earth bunkers and doglegs. The green fee is 950 MAD for 18 holes and 550 MAD for nine.

An 18 plus a nine: Royal Golf Marrakech, Tazegzout and The Tony Jacklin

Here the extra nine is a different course, not a third leg of the same layout. It is often shorter, which makes it useful for a warm-up, a late-afternoon loop or a partner who is still learning.

Royal Golf Marrakech

The Royal Golf Marrakech Old Course was laid out by Gustave Golias and Arnaud Massy and opened in 1927: 18 holes, par 72, 5,871 m. British visitors may know Massy’s other claim to fame: in 1907 at Hoylake he became the first overseas winner of The Open. The New Course, also called Menara, is a 9-hole par 36 of 3,072 m by the Sprecher and Watine team, inaugurated in 2008. Green fees are 1,200 MAD for 18 holes and 700 MAD for nine, and a forecaddie has been compulsory since 28 May 2025: 200 to 300 MAD for 18 holes depending on the number of players, per caddie, in cash.

Tazegzout, Taghazout Bay

Tazegzout Golf is usually described as an 18-hole course, but its operator, Madaëf Golfs, lists 27 holes. Kyle Phillips designed it among argan trees, with holes on cliffs 80 metres above the Atlantic. Its operator lists the Green nine (3,291 m, par 36), the Red nine (3,384 m, par 36) and the Blue nine (1,853 m, par 32). No public green fee was published on 9 October 2026.

The Tony Jacklin Marrakech

On the Tahanaout road, Argan Golf Resort (The Tony Jacklin) pairs an 18-hole par 72 of 6,550 m with a 9-hole par-3 course, which the operator describes as unique in Morocco. It was inaugurated in 2016. Visitor rates are 600 MAD for 18 holes and 400 MAD for nine, with no year shown: among the Marrakech courses we checked on 9 October 2026, only Atlas Golf’s summer rate (500 MAD) is lower. Our guide to green fees in Morocco compares the others.

Bigger still: 36 and 45 holes

  • Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, Rabat, 45 holes. Robert Trent Jones designed three courses: the Red (18 holes, par 73, 6,702 m), the Blue (18 holes, par 72, 6,205 m) and the Green (9 holes, par 32, 2,170 m). The club dates the complex to 1971. Its rate card online is still the 2025 one: 1,200 MAD for the Red and 850 MAD for the Blue (18 holes).
  • Golf du Soleil, Agadir, 36 holes. Two 18-hole courses by Fernando Mueller and Gérard Courbin: the Championship (1999, renovated and reopened in October 2019) and the Tikida, a nine from 1999 extended to 18 holes in 2006. The 2026-27 green fees were not yet published on 9 October 2026.
  • Mogador, Essaouira. The FRMG lists 36 holes; the club describes two Gary Player courses, North and South, the North open to the public since 2009. The published 18-hole rate is 750 MAD.

What changes for a visiting golfer

  • More variety from one base. Three nines give three different 18-hole rounds. Staying in Agadir, Golf de l’Océan and Golf des Dunes alone give you six combinations.
  • Nine-hole rates are real options. Golf de l’Océan (500 MAD), Amelkis (550 MAD), Royal Golf Marrakech (700 MAD) and The Tony Jacklin Marrakech (400 MAD) all publish a 9-hole price, handy on arrival or departure day.
  • Ask which pairing you will play. At a three-nine venue the tee sheet decides your 18. If you want a particular combination, say Desert and Garden at Golf de l’Océan, request it when you book.
  • Handicap and caddie rules still apply. At Royal Golf Marrakech the forecaddie is compulsory whatever course you play.

Marrakech is the easiest place to combine two 27-hole venues on one trip: Amelkis and Royal Golf Marrakech are both on the Ouarzazate side of the city. Our golf holidays in Marrakech are built around one villa and a different course each day, with transfers included in the plan.
