Marrakech driving ranges: practice facilities, prices and hours
- 15 October 2026
The most complete driving range published in Marrakech is at Al Maaden (a 300-metre range, grass practice area, putting green, chipping green and practice bunkers), and the biggest whose size is published is at Samanah (7 hectares, 350 metres deep). If you are playing the course, range balls are included in the green fee at Assoufid; a bucket costs 30 dirhams at Al Maaden and 50 MAD at Samanah. For range-only sessions, just two clubs publish a price: Amelkis (100 MAD with two buckets) and Samanah (200 MAD for two hours, 300 MAD for the day).
Marrakech driving ranges, club by club
On 15 October 2026 we went through the official websites of the 13 Marrakech courses featured on our site. The table only shows what each club publishes itself. “Not published” means the club says nothing about it online, not that the facility does not exist: several clubs have a range they simply do not describe.
| Club | Published facilities | Balls and access (published prices) | Coaching |
|---|---|---|---|
| Al Maaden Golf | 300 m driving range, grass practice area, putting green, chipping green, practice bunkers | Bucket of balls 30 MAD, “valid with a green fee”; range-only access: price not published | Academy (section of the club’s site) |
| Samanah Golf Club | 7 ha range, 350 m deep; 9-hole pitch and putt | 2026-27 rates: bucket of 30 balls 50 MAD with a green fee; without one, 200 MAD for 2 hours, 300 MAD for the day | Olivier Edmond’s academy |
| Amelkis Golf Club | Range (“our practice areas”, next to the clubhouse and pro shop) | Range access 100 MAD (2 buckets included); mat fee 100 MAD (2 buckets included); bucket of 30 balls 20 MAD | Not published |
| Assoufid Golf Club | Driving range and putting greens (named in the club rules) | Range balls included in the green fee; 150 MAD range fee when working with an academy pro | Academy with pros |
| Fairmont Royal Palm | Driving range and putting green | Warm-up bucket included in the green fee (2025-26 rate card, now expired; rates page unreachable on 15 Oct 2026); range-only: price not published | Academy: private, semi-private and group lessons |
| Palm Golf Ourika | Not described | Practice balls included in the green fee (2025-26 rate card, expired 30 Sept 2026) | Group lessons advertised |
| Royal Golf Marrakech | Range (the clubhouse terrace overlooks it) | Not published | Golf school: 90-minute taster at 300 MAD, multi-day courses |
| The Montgomerie | “Large training area”: long game, putting, bunker play | Not published | Prestigia Golf Academy |
| The Tony Jacklin Marrakech | Same description as the Montgomerie; a par-3 nine as well as the 18 | Not published | Prestigia Golf Academy |
| Atlas Golf | Not published | Not published | Taster: 400 MAD (1-4 people), 300 MAD (4-8), 200 MAD (9 or more) |
| Noria Golf Club | Practice facility announced at its 2014 opening (golf trade press) | Not published | Not published |
| Golf Akenza | Not published by the club | Not published | Not published |
| Golf Club Rotana (Pickalbatros) | Not published by the club | Not published | Not published |
Three points stand out. Only Samanah and Amelkis publish a genuine range-only price for someone not playing the course. Amelkis is the only club to list a “mat fee” separately from range access: both cost 100 MAD with two buckets, and the rate card does not explain the difference. And only Al Maaden says what you hit from, describing a grass practice area. Everywhere else, ask the club or mention it in your quote request.
Warming up before your tee time
For most golfers on a trip, this is what the range is for: one bucket before the first tee. Six clubs say whether these balls are included in the green fee or what they cost.
- Included in the green fee: Assoufid (rates valid 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027) and, on their 2025-26 rate cards, Palm Golf Ourika and Fairmont Royal Palm. When we checked, Palm Golf Ourika showed no 2026-27 rates and Fairmont’s rates page was not responding, so confirm the balls are still included.
- Extra, with a green fee: 30 MAD a bucket at Al Maaden, 50 MAD for a bucket of 30 balls at Samanah.
- Amelkis lists a bucket of 30 balls at 20 MAD on its rate card.
Build the warm-up into your timings: if you want a bucket, a few putts and time to check in with the starter, get to the club at least 45 minutes before your tee time. Samanah is the only club that publishes when its range opens, month by month: 7.15am from March to September, 7.30am in October, 7.45am in February and November, 8am in December and January. The first tee time is 15 minutes later.
The course you pick matters too. A player who wants to sharpen the short game before a round will find a chipping green and practice bunkers at Al Maaden. For green fees, designers and access rules, see our Marrakech golf courses compared.

A range day without a round
On a week-long trip, plenty of golfers keep one day free of 18 holes: to rest the back, work on a fault from the day before, or simply spend less. This is what range-only practice costs on the rate cards we checked on 15 October 2026.
| Option | Published price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Samanah, 2-hour pass (visitor, no green fee) | 200 MAD | Range for 2 hours |
| Samanah, day pass (visitor, no green fee) | 300 MAD | Range for the day |
| Samanah, book of 10 sessions (visitor, no green fee) | 1,500 MAD for 2-hour sessions; 2,500 MAD for full days | 10 practice sessions |
| Amelkis, range access | 100 MAD | 2 buckets of balls |
| Amelkis, card of 6 / 12 buckets | 100 MAD / 200 MAD | 6 or 12 buckets |
| Assoufid, range fee with an academy pro | 150 MAD | Range access for a lesson (the lesson itself is not priced) |
The sums are simple. Five 2-hour sessions at Samanah cost 1,000 MAD paid one by one; with the 10-session book at 1,500 MAD, each session works out at 150 MAD instead of 200, so the book pays for itself from the eighth session. At Amelkis, 100 MAD gets two buckets, which would be 60 balls if they are the same 30-ball buckets sold singly: the rate card does not say.
Elsewhere, the range often exists but range-only access has no published price. Al Maaden even lists a “Range access” line on its rate card, with no figure next to it. If you have your heart set on a particular club, mention it in your quote request.
The range for a partner who does not play yet
A complete beginner cannot go out on the more demanding courses: Fairmont Royal Palm only let licensed players with a handicap of 28 or better on the course (club website offline on 16 October 2026), and Assoufid sets a maximum of 35, with a certificate. Their place is on the range, with a pro. Three clubs publish a priced first session:
- Royal Golf Marrakech: a 90-minute fun taster, 300 MAD per session;
- Atlas Golf: tasters at 400 MAD for 1-4 people, 300 MAD for 4-8, 200 MAD for 9 or more; the site does not say whether that is per person or per group;
- Samanah: a “solo” beginner day at 900 MAD, with two hours on the range, equipment, and lunch in the clubhouse.
Clubs matter: without a set, a beginner gets nothing out of a range pass. Samanah provides equipment for its beginner day; elsewhere, ask whether clubs are provided or plan on hiring. For more than a single session (3 to 5-day courses, hourly lessons), our guide to golf lessons in Morocco compares the schools in Marrakech and Agadir.
Range practice in summer
From June to September, practise early. Under the WMO 1991-2020 climate normals, Marrakech averages a daily high of 37.7 °C in July and 37.4 °C in August. An open range with no shade over the hitting area becomes hard work well before noon. Samanah opens its range at 7.15am in summer, which is the time to aim for. For the rest of the day (low-season rates, twilight rates, tee-time strategy), read our guide to golf in Marrakech in summer.
Choosing a base if practice is the priority
If working on your game is the point of the trip, the logic is simple: stay close to the range you will use most, and fit the rounds around it. Samanah, with its 7-hectare range, pitch and putt and published 2026-27 practice rates, is the clearest choice for a technique-focused trip. Al Maaden has the most detailed short-game areas. Amelkis has the cheapest buckets on the published rate cards. We build the trip to measure: courses, tee times, accommodation and transfers. Tell us which range you want to use when you ask for a quote on our golf holidays in Marrakech page.
