Golf buggy hire in Marrakech: prices and rules course by course

Two golfers in a golf buggy on a course, one raising his club

Golf buggy hire in Marrakech costs 350 to 450 MAD for 18 holes and 200 to 350 MAD for 9 holes, according to the official rate cards we checked on 22 October 2026. The buggy is charged on top of the green fee and the caddie, who has been compulsory on every course in Morocco since 29 May 2025. None of Marrakech’s 13 courses publishes a compulsory buggy rule: Royal Golf Marrakech actually lists it as “optional”.

Buggy prices, course by course

The table covers the 13 Marrakech courses on our site. Prices come from each club’s buggy line (called “voiturette”, “Golf Car”, “Caddy car” or “Buggy” depending on the club), read against the 9-hole and 18-hole column headings. The caddie fee sits in the last column, because it is always added.

Seven clubs publish a current price, or one with no expiry date. Two more only show an out-of-date card: Palm Golf Ourika, whose card ran to 30 September 2026, and Fairmont Royal Palm, whose golf website has been offline since 14 October; we quote its last archived card, for the 2025-26 season. For those two, confirm this season’s price when you book.

What changes the bill

Nine holes or eighteen

A 9-hole buggy costs between half and nearly 80% of the 18-hole price, depending on the club: 200 MAD against 400 MAD at Atlas Golf, 300 against 450 MAD at Royal Golf Marrakech and Al Maaden, 250 against 450 MAD at Assoufid, 300 against 400 MAD at Amelkis, 350 against 450 MAD at Samanah. Atlas Golf is a 9-hole course, so its 18-hole price means two loops. If you land in the afternoon or want a short day, nine holes in a buggy is the cheapest way to try a course.

Per buggy or per player: the rate cards do not say

Marrakech rate cards show a single buggy line and do not say whether it covers one player or two. No Marrakech club publishes a minimum driver age, a driving licence requirement or a medical certificate for buggy hire either. If you plan to share with your playing partner, get it confirmed when you book the tee time: that is what halves the cost.

The caddie comes on top, whatever happens

The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation circular of 29 May 2025 makes caddies compulsory “on all golf courses, during rounds played”. It says nothing about buggies, so taking a buggy does not let you skip the caddie. Al Maaden and Assoufid still print “on request” next to the caddie on their cards, but the federation rule applies everywhere. Royal Golf Marrakech charges per caddie, depending on the size of your group, and asks for payment in cash, directly to the caddie. Handicap and dress rules are covered in our guide to handicap, dress code and caddies.

Published buggy rules

Few clubs write their buggy rules down. These are the ones we found on official pages:

  • Fairmont Royal Palm: “In case of rain, golf carts are not permitted”; the club asks you to contact the golf reception in advance for confirmation. Its 2025-26 card also warned that it has a limited number of carts and that you should reserve one early.
  • Atlas Golf: book caddies and carts 24 hours ahead to be sure of availability.
  • Assoufid: its club rules ask players to drive with care for people and the course, follow the direction signs, and not to drive in the desert areas or within 20 metres of the greens. Smoking is also prohibited in the golf cars.
  • Palm Golf Ourika: on its last card, electric trolleys are hired by reservation only.
  • Samanah Golf Club: its 2026-27 card lists the buggy as subject to availability with booking required, like all its hire items (buggies, bags, caddies, trolleys, scooters).

In practice, book the buggy with the tee time, and be ready to walk with your caddie if rain rules buggies out at the Fairmont.

Buggy, trolley or walking with your caddie

Because the caddie is compulsory, walking does not mean carrying your bag. A buggy makes most sense in the heat, for a 27-hole day or for a player who does not walk far. Where trolley prices are published, they are far cheaper:

CoursePush trolley, 18 holesElectric trolley, 18 holesBuggy, 18 holes

The gap between trolley and buggy runs from 300 MAD at The Montgomerie and Amelkis to 380 MAD at Royal Golf Marrakech and Al Maaden. In the hotter months a buggy becomes a comfort choice; our guide to golf in Marrakech in summer gives the tee times worth aiming for.

Sample budget for two players

Example: two golfers, four 18-hole rounds, one shared buggy per round (sharing to be confirmed with each club). Prices checked on 22 October 2026, green fees not included.

For the pair, buggies and caddies come to 2,300 to 2,800 MAD over four rounds, or 1,150 to 1,400 MAD each. Among the current rate cards, only Royal Golf Marrakech publishes how many caddies a group needs (one caddie, priced by the number of players); elsewhere, ask when you book. Without buggies, the same four rounds would cost the pair 1,600 MAD less. Green fees for these courses are ranked in our guide to the cheapest golf in Marrakech, and every course is side by side in Marrakech golf courses compared.

The caddie’s tip is not included: among the pages we checked, only Assoufid mentions it, in its club rules, which refer to a card handed out by the caddie master before the round. Carry some dirhams in cash for the caddie. For a full trip with a private villa, chef and transfers, see our golf holidays in Marrakech.

Frequently asked questions

350 to 450 MAD for 18 holes and 200 to 350 MAD for 9 holes on the rate cards checked on 22 October 2026: 350 MAD at The Montgomerie and The Tony Jacklin Marrakech, 400 at Amelkis and Atlas Golf, 450 at Royal Golf Marrakech, Al Maaden, Assoufid and Samanah.

No. None of Marrakech’s 13 courses publishes a compulsory buggy rule, and Royal Golf Marrakech lists it as optional. What is compulsory on every course in Morocco is the caddie, under the federation circular of 29 May 2025.

Club rate cards show a single buggy line and do not state how many players it covers. If you share with a partner, get it confirmed when you book the tee time: the cost is then split between you.

Yes. The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation circular makes caddies compulsory during rounds on every course, with no exception for buggies. At Royal Golf Marrakech, a caddie costs 200 MAD for 1 or 2 players over 18 holes, paid in cash.

Not at Fairmont Royal Palm: golf carts are not permitted there in the rain, and the club asks you to check with the golf reception beforehand. The other Marrakech courses publish no rain rule.

Yes, it is worth it. Samanah lists its buggies as subject to availability with booking required, Atlas Golf asks for caddies and carts to be booked 24 hours ahead, and Fairmont Royal Palm warned on its 2025-26 card that it has a limited number of carts. The simplest way is to book the buggy with the tee time.
