For the 2026-27 season, three competitions open to amateurs have published dates in Marrakech, and all three fall in late November and early December 2026: the World Left-Handed Golf Championship (22-27 November), the Park Hyatt Marrakech Golf Trophy (26-30 November) and the Marrakech Golf Festival (29 November – 6 December), which closes entries on 30 October 2026. For winter and spring 2027, no organiser had published dates as of 15 October 2026. Here is the calendar, what you need to enter, and how to plan a trip around it.

Marrakech amateur golf tournaments: the 2026-27 calendar

The table only lists competitions whose organiser publishes the dates, the courses and the format. The status is as of 15 October 2026: a past edition with no 2027 date announced is marked as such.

At club level, none of the Marrakech clubs we checked publishes a 2026-27 calendar of competitions open to visitors. Assoufid’s events page lists only its Sunday brunch, Amelkis’s online calendar stops in February 2023, and Samanah lists competitions as a members’ benefit. The Hassan II Trophy is a different thing altogether: it is a PGA TOUR Champions event played at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat (50th edition in May 2026): a pro-am is played during the week, with no published entry terms, so for an amateur it is mainly one to watch. Our guide to the Hassan II Trophy covers how to attend.

Marrakech Golf Festival: five rounds on five courses

It is the longest of the three dated competitions, with five rounds. It is run by Premium Golf Travel, a Marrakech-based agency, and takes between 30 and 72 players, men and ladies, of all standards. The 2026 rules and programme set one round per course:

The format is individual Stableford over 90 holes, with gross and nett prizes and full (100%) course handicap. Men play off the yellows, ladies off the reds and senior men off the blues. The playing handicap index is capped at 28.0 for men and 36.0 for ladies: higher handicaps can still enter and play off the cap. The programme shows 9am shotgun starts on some days, while the rules mention tee times at 10-minute intervals from 9am, so expect a morning start either way.

Three options are published. Competition only costs €995 per golfer (about £840) and covers the 5 rounds, 4 drinks receptions and the gala dinner. The two 7-night packages with a hotel cost €1,795 and €2,095 per golfer. Buggies must be booked in advance and are paid at the club. Entries are made by email to the organiser and close at 23:59 on 30 October 2026; the rules allow extra entries “on request” after that.

Park Hyatt Marrakech Golf Trophy: a two-person scramble

Run by the French agency SWING, the trophy is in its second year; its programme and entry form are published in French. It is played in pairs, as a Stableford scramble, with a 9am shotgun every day: Assoufid Golf Club on 27 November, Akenza on the 28th and Al Maaden Golf on the 29th, with the gala dinner that evening.

The conditions are stricter than the festival’s. Entry is open to members of a golf federation holding a handicap certificate, the handicap index is capped at 26.4 (the index on 20 November 2026 is the one used), and a medical certificate for competitive golf is compulsory. The golfer package, 4 nights in a double room at the Park Hyatt Marrakech, is published at €2,190 per person (about £1,850). Note the cancellation terms: after 8 October, no cancellation is refunded, and the entry form asks for the balance by 8 October 2026.

World Left-Handed Golf Championship

For the first time in North Africa, the World Association of Left-Handed Golfers (WALG) holds its 30th championship in Marrakech, from 22 to 27 November 2026. Four rounds of stroke play on Al Maaden, Royal Golf Marrakech, Akenza and Samanah, in four divisions: Open, Senior (60+), Super Senior (70+) and Ladies. A right-handed golfer can take part as an accompanying player. A left-handed player in a double room pays €1,670 (about £1,410), and a player who books their own accommodation pays €1,090 (about £920). The published entry deadline is 31 May, full refunds ran only until 31 August 2026, and the booking page now says entries are closed, directing any request to an email contact.

January to June 2027: events to watch

Several competitions open to amateurs were played in Marrakech between January and June 2026. None had published a 2027 date by 15 October 2026. They show the usual pattern of the season, with no guarantee they return on the same dates:

  • Pro-Am Naoura Barrière: late January 2026, on Amelkis, Samanah and Assoufid, run by Premium Golf Travel.
  • Pro Am International Marrakech: 10th edition in March 2026, three rounds on Akenza, Al Maaden and Samanah, open to amateurs of all standards, in teams with a professional.
  • Open Golf Marrakech: late March 2026, on Al Maaden, Amelkis and Ourika, as singles Stableford or scramble, open to amateurs and professionals.
  • FRMG Classic Amateurs: three stops in Marrakech in May and June 2026 (PalmGolf Ourika, Noria, Samanah Golf Club). The Moroccan federation lists them among its “competitions organised by the clubs”, with no entry rules for overseas players.

For January 2027, the French golf press announces the Coupe de France Professionnelle in Marrakech, from 25 to 31 January, on Akenza, Royal Palm, Royal Golf Marrakech and Samanah. Each professional plays with an amateur partner, in a better-ball team format. We found no official event page and no published terms for the amateur: the event is open to PGA members accompanied by an amateur, so your way in is through your club pro.

Have three things ready before you enter: a recent handicap record from your home union or club (England Golf, Golf Ireland or equivalent), a medical certificate if the event requires one, and your passport. UK visitors need a passport valid for at least 3 months from the day they arrive, and can stay up to 90 days without a visa. Local rules on dress and caddies are summed up in our guide to handicap, dress code and caddies.

Building a trip around a tournament

A Marrakech competition fixes three to five days of golf. The rest of the trip is up to you:

  • Arrive a day or two early for a practice round. At the festival you play five courses you may not know, and a round on one of them means you are not seeing the greens for the first time on competition day.
  • Take the competition-only option where there is one (€995 at the festival) and sort the hotel and transfers separately, if you want a different base or a longer stay.
  • Stay on after the prize-giving and play other courses: they are covered on our golf in Marrakech page.
  • Expect good golfing weather: average highs are 23.1 °C in November and 20.1 °C in December (WMO 1991-2020 normals), comfortable for five rounds in a row.

Would your society rather run its own competition, on its own dates? A week-long Stableford works just as well for a group of friends or a club trip; see our guide to golf society trips to Morocco. Either way, we put together golf holidays in Marrakech around your dates; tournament entry itself is made directly with the organiser.

Frequently asked questions

Three competitions open to amateurs have published dates: the World Left-Handed Golf Championship from 22 to 27 November, the Park Hyatt Marrakech Golf Trophy from 26 to 30 November and the Marrakech Golf Festival from 29 November to 6 December 2026. The left-handed championship’s booking page says entries are closed.

The rules close entries at 23:59 on 30 October 2026, by email to the organiser. Extra entries may be accepted on request after that date.

Yes. The Marrakech Golf Festival asks for a valid handicap from your national federation, capped at 28.0 for men and 36.0 for ladies. The Park Hyatt Golf Trophy requires federation membership, a handicap certificate and caps the index at 26.4.

As of 15 October 2026, no organiser has published 2027 dates. In 2026 there was a pro-am in late January, another in March, an open in late March and three federation Classic Amateurs in May and June.

No. It is a PGA TOUR Champions event played at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, not in Marrakech. A pro-am is played during the week, but no entry terms are published: for an amateur it is mainly a tournament to watch.
